If cancer is diagnosed, the doctor needs to know the stage of disease, ie, how the disease is far advanced.

He may suggest additional studies to determine whether the tumor spread to other parts of the body.  

Always check whether the lymph nodes near the tumor located in the cancer cells. If found, it can be assumed that the tumor spread to other organs.
